Jazzybelle Records was founded in 2024 by Olivier Rosset and Alexander Wise, two long-time friends who had worked together in the French music industry during the 90s and 00s. The goal of the label is to promote jazz-rooted music, past and present, to enthusiasts and collectors around the world. Jazz’s legacy is deeply embedded in the fabric of modern music, from the structures of songs to the ways artists approach composition and performance. Its principles of innovation, complexity, and emotional expression continue to shape the music we listen to today.
In addition to its digital and physical distribution activity, Modulor created a label in 2008 which was initially focused on French electronic music with artists such as Arnaud Rebotini, Scratch Massive and Juan Trip. Since 2010, the label has expanded its repertoire through not only emblematic artists of the independent rap scene, but also soul, jazz and French chanson popular artists. Thus, Modulor has released records by talented rappers Dooz Kawa, Lucio Bukowski, J.P. Manova, acclaimed producers Kyo Itachi, Lionel Soulchildren, James Digger, multi-award-winning Canadian singer Dominique Fils-Aimé, and the iconic Pierre Richard.
